Romneya - new hybrid?

As guest speaker at a garden club last week, I was presented with a
plant which appears to be something different in the Romneyas. The
label is:
Romneya x hybrida (syn. R. x vandenii)

As I already have Romneya coulteri 'White Cloud', it differs in having
smaller, more deeply divided leaves and large thorns on the main stems,
the whole plant quite prickly.

I looked on the Net for more info, but none of the sites goes into much
depth. I think 'White Cloud' is a hybrid between R. coulteri and R.
trichocalyx. Can anyone give me some info about Romneya x vandenii?

Considering the difficulty of getting Romneya seeds to germinate, more
power to anyone who has the patience to raise hybrids of this plant!
