I'd go for it, Nan. It sounds like you've provided ample water, so the leaves are still doing their thing. You might think about foliar feeding or otherwise providing some fertilizer to the plant as insurance that the corm has enough nutrients to rebloom. Then dig the corms up in a couple weeks, if there is no hurry. But again, if you want to do it now, I'd think you probably wouldn't kill the plant.
