RE: California poppies/preemergent


Sue, if you are using a granular pre-emergent herbicide
then yes I would expect it to kill any newly germinated
seedlings.  Do you remember the active ingredient?
It can have some bearing on the selectivity of the
herbicide although in this case if it is keeping spurge
(Euphorbia?) in check then it will work on most broadleaf
plants.
