Susan,
that reminds me of my experience with salvia baergarten (i think this spelling is wrong, but is close!)
which I really wanted to grow, having various other culinary salvias which we use a lot
and I must have gone through at least 6 plants, obtained at different times, from 2 or 3 different nurseries
-all died within a week, no matter where I planted them, in a pot or in different spots in my garden!
Even though I thought I was a stubborn idiot,
I tried 1 last time, and it took, it made it through our unusually hard freeze last winter which killed off many other
plants and is still going strong, -it has turned into a nice sized patch of its own...
someone else on medit plants posted something recently about not giving up till he killed a plant 3 times, I
think, well, I still can't believe I was so persistant, or that I was finally successfull!
funny, huh :-)
