Re: Cutting oleander

Just a note to those of you who may be thinking of taking cuttings from
your oleander bushes for the first time: I used to live in Key West,
Florida, where oleander grows year round, and we were very strongly
warned NOT to get the sap on our skin or anywhere near our faces.
Oleander is poisonous in all its parts -- people have gotten sick from
inhaling the smoke from burning oleander prunings -- and people have
died from eating meat that has been roasted on oleander-wood spits. So
wear gloves and facial protection when you work with this beautiful
plant.
