Re : Chelsea Show and Europe

Ginny,
I had a trip to Ireland last year with the "société nationale d'horticulture
de France" and we saw a lot of gardens during 5 days :
-Talbot Botanic Garden (north of Dublin) with many plants from Tasmania
    - garden at Earlscliffe, BAILY, co. Dublin :view of Dublin Bay.
Collection of most tender plants
    - Knockcree Garden, Glenamuck Road, CARRICKMINES, Dublin 18 : private
garden with collections of hardy geraniums, aquilegias, ferns.
    - Powerscourt : the irish "Versailles" with huge italian terraces
    - Mount Usher Gardens, ASHFORD, Co. Wicklow : famous robinsonian garden
with handkerchief trees, crinodendron, viburnums, rhododendrons, azaleas,
liriodendron, hebes, philadelphus and embothrium
    - Holmsdale, GREYSTONES, co. Wicklow : the irish RHS Chairman's garden
    - Helen Dillon' garden in center Dublin which is a must
    - Kensington Lodge Gardens, Rochestown Avenue, DUN LAOGHAIRE, Co. Dublin
: open on wenesday, saturday and sunday 2.00-5.30pm , roses, herbaceous
plants, moisture loving plants and flower arrangers garden
    - Kestrel Lodge, The Long Hill, KILMACANOGUE, Co. Wicklow.

    - Butterstream Gardens, Kildalkey Road, TRIM, Co. Meath : Jim Reynolds
'garden, the irish Sissinghurst
All these gardens are situated in Dublin area.
Now forNorth Ireland , you can find :
    - Rowallane Garden, Saintfield Ballynahinch : wellknown for the
ericaceas and penstemons national collection but these will not be flowering
by this time;
    - Mount Stewart : tremendous one, another must !
    - Gary Dunlop : I don't find his adress but it is a private garden which
holds the national collections of celmisias, crocosmias and euphorbias.
I have finished with this list and hope this will help you to make a choice.
 Enjoy your trip
