I received a question about deer-and thought I would pass it on to the group.
We have many deer too-they have eaten all the Tulips and Tiarella.
They do not like to eat most of the plants in the Family Ranunculaceae:
Cimicifuga
Thalictrum
Trollius
Hellebores
Aquilegia
Delphinium
Caltha
Anemone
Clematis
Also a close related plant they will not eat is Peony.
A deer if hungry enough will eat almost any thing, but the above list of
plants they do not eat in my yard-and we have some big hungry deer this year.
Deer love plants in the Rose Family including:
Pyrus
Amelanchier
Rosa- roses
Prunus
Potentilla
Rubus
Physocarpus
Dryas
Alchemilla
Guem
Fragaria
Spirea
This year the deer got so hungry that they even eat some of my Pulmonaria,
they usually leave this one alone.
