Chantal, Gaura here in the pacific northwest has dark red spots (not black)
on the juvenile leaves. They tend to "outgrow" these spots as they mature.
It is normal, not disease.

I do love the gauras, and I have in my garden the regular one which is
white. I tried the 'Siskiyou Pink' but lost it.
Anyway, all the gauras I see here in France (I mean in nurseries or in
friends'gardens) have black spots on the foliage, as if they are sick. I was
wondering if this foliage is normal or if it is a desease.
