Angelica gigas; eupatorium 'Gateway'

Saw these on a garden show recently.  I thought a. gigas was a biennial
(somewhere in my pea brain) but this person from Canada was saying her plant
had survived two winters.  Any comments?
 Eupatorium _______ 'Gateway' -- how tall does it get?   Both were striking plants.  Thanks for any help.
