Re: hellebore bloom time


Hello Bill,
    Perhaps this one carries genes from the warmer part of it native range,
therefore the earlier blooming period. Not a lot of pollinators out in
December, so perhaps it needs assistance for setting more seed. Probably
also have to cover the entire plant with a mini greenhouse of some kind to
let them develop over winter. Just some guesses......
    It may also happen to march to the beat of a different drummer only it
hears.... have some human friends like that.....
