moving hellebore

Since we are discussing this plant I was wondering if
anyone had hints on moving them. I have read somewhere
that they dislike being disturbed but made an error
siting 2 white h. orientalis a couple of years
ago-they are lost beneath some enthusiastic rosemary
and lavender in a border around part of my cutting
carden. Last year I cut the rosemary and lavender
hedge way back thinking the helleborus would be able
to get it's head up and say hi before they took off,
but the same thing has happened this year. I have a
friendlier place for the helleborus with good light
and enough shade, around plants more its size. I hope
to do this in the next couple of days while the Oregon
weather is sorta showery so shock will be minimalized.
The plants are both 3 years old and healthy.
Usually I'm a "dig it up and move it" type of person,
moving my perennials or dividing them whenever I want,
but these darn plants are expensive when small and
really really expensive when this size! I would hate
to loose them so I thought I'd ask for help.
