hellstrips

Don wrote about that hell strip between walk and road in his
front yard.
I've seen some nice treatments with low growing sedums and
sempervivums. The dirt there *tends* to be shallow and of
poor quality - which is just what they like. I'd rather see
summer interest than short spring interest - especially
after someone mentioned the snow piles. And after watching
my crocus' hurtle out of the ground, bloom, and die in the
space of the last three days, I'd choose something longer
lived. . . .
Just my thoughts on a rare spring evening . . .
