Wow - and another Wow:
Sure now - I would love to have some lady slippers for my garden but at
those
prices wow. Thanks for all the input from everyone on these lovely
plants. For those prices (and I thought daylilies were expensive) - I'll
just keep my memories of the ones my Dad gathered years ago and just stick
with gathering more bloodroot from our woods and move to my garden. I can
imagine with these prices that people are stripping the woods of wild
plants. Seeing how long they take to reseed themselves it's no wonder the
prices are high. I do like learning about the process of plants reseeding
and was amazed at how long they take to come up.
I'll pass this information on to my grandkids tonight around the dinner
table. Usually have five kids here now. Gee, I wonder if they are still at
our old home in Philadelphia. Would go and see but the section is pretty
bad for me to visit. To think of those lovely gardens surrounding these big
mansions. I remember some of the wonderful gardens and perhaps the plants
are still there.?? I am tempted. Especially for old rose cuttings.
Thanks for answering my questions everyone. Don't have the time to start
seeds that you have to be a rocket scientist to start and at my age too long
a period to wait. hee hee I'll just cut out pictures of them and place on
sticks and put them out in the garden. hee hee. Only kidding everyone.
Happy Spring Gardening!
