Last year, I put H. 'Amber Waves' in a large pot with a Coleus whose
leaves were a sort of rusty pumpkin color in back of a smaller pot of
an annual (I forget name) with a flower almost the identical color of
the Heuchera. It was very effective until the Coleus took off and
the poor Heuchera got buried. Amazingly, it survived and was still
sitting there when I cut back the Coleus after frost. It's still in
the pot, now in the greenhouse and I shall plant it out in the garden
when it warms up enough to harden it off properly.
I'm thinking Ophiopogon 'Nigrescens' might be an interesting
companion for this rather oddly colored child. I'd go for the
Phormium combo that Debbie had if ONLY I could grow those in the
garden. I do have a small one, acquired this spring, 'Sundowner',
who will join the increasing number of huge pots (when it grows up)
that I'm hauling in and out each year. Hmmm...now, maybe the
Heuchera would go with that in a pot?

Good

patch.
> blooms are pink-red in bud. More vigorous than Amber Waves.
