Re: Best soil mix for containerized hellebores?

So far, so good in Southern NH. We had a very strange winter: a roller coaster ride of temperatures! In my garden, however, nothing seems to have sprouted at the wrong time, so I have hopes that they over wintered just fine. Crocus are blooming nicely; Siberian Iris about to. Daffs and Tulips 1" to 2" high depending on location.

Subject: Best soil mix for containerized hellebores?

This list has been quiet!

Things are popping everywhere in town -- we're about three weeks early.
While I'm scared about the plants' survival, it sure is nice to see
things in bloom. :)

I'm also busy getting my plants together for the nursery. Last year's
hellebores didn't fare too well in the soil mix that I made up, so I'm
wondering if anyone here has any ideas about soil mixes for hellebores
overwintered in pots.

And more generally, what's happening in gardens in other parts of the
world?

Chris
