I have a Hydrangea quercifolia and I live in Zone 5. Mine is situated in
a more sheltered location from the winter winds and has gone through its
second winter. And it bloomed last year even though there was some
winter die back. This year it is larger and has suffered less die back.
So I'm hoping for a good show. My biggest complaint is that the Japanese
beetles seem to like it as much as some roses and the hollyhocks!
In my area
there is at least one perennial farm that has
it in their display gardens. It is a well grown bush and their area is
famous for wind!
