Trust the weather? Are you kidding? Who knows what it will do.
I have been busy dividing perennials and transplanting seedlings, but have
just begun to harden off things like salvias, calendulas, basil, etc. Will
continue to wait for most things as we risk having a frost for several more
weeks. Don't have the time or the inclination to run around like a maniac
covering things that might suffer if a frost is predicted. Besides, there
is plenty to do right now. Being so far ahead of the game this year has
made this spring particularly enjoyable. Not the frantic rush to get
everything done at once. I rather like it this way.
Have spent the past two days mulching and have at least another 3 days or so
of the same. Beds always look terrific after fresh mulch and not only tie
the gardens together, but they also show you where you have holes that need
to be filled with new plants. That's cause to go to the nursery and get
more. Just what I plan to do today. It's raining and I have a favorite
greenhouse, all under cover, so I think I will go spend the afternoon! What
fun.
