I pulled a large clump of Southern Charm earlier this spring, chopped the
roots into many pieces, laid them on a bed of moist potting mix
(peat/vermiculite/perlite), and covered the entire thing with an inch of
coarse perlite. Soaked it throughly, covered with a flat, and popped it
under a greenhouse bench. I am now getting a dozen or so sprouts, and I
suspect that every piece may eventually send up a shoot. At least, that's
what happens in the garden. The little bits left behind after a plant is
pulled all formed new plants last year.
