You could try any variety of mint . . .it will take over
everything.  I prefer *sundrops* (Mortensia Virginicus) because
they have a pretty yellow flower and nice foliage (turns reddish in
the fall).  They spread by creepers, but aren't very fast.  If it
were my bank, I'd plant the sundrops in amongst the ivy to keep the
dirt from eroding and let the sundrops go at it.

Whilst I'm at it . .any one know if datura is a perennial and a
good source for seeds or plants?
