HI,
I am in Zone 5 Westland, Michigan and I have been growing dahlias for 13
years.
You must dig the tubers up after the frost turns the leaves black. I store
the
tubers in sawdust and have been very successful keeping them through the
winter.
I check the tubers in mid January and soak them in cold water for 1 hour if
they appear to be shriveling. Feel free to E-Mail me if you have any
questions.
You must wash the dirt off with water before storing.
Regards,
Curt Rellinger
