I personally love the Amelanchier trees and dwarf trees. You can let
them be multi-stem or train them to single. They're flowering right now
in southeast Wisconsin and are very pretty. Not as showy as a Prunas or
Malas but still, very pretty. They also get berries that attract
birds. But to me their biggest attribute is their fall color.
Brilliant yellows or orange-yellows. Really lights up the yard. I know
several people who have them and really love them. I'm going to be
buying one this year.
