I was just thinking about you last week!  Glad to see you're ba-ack!  Your
posts always make me smile.  I am just getting around to answering since
Tuesday, so you probably have received a zillion answers.  But, IMHO, I
think it is too early to see sings of your perennials.  I am also in zone 5.
I have day lilies about 5 inches high, my irises, and some of my
forget-me-nots just peeking through.  But, as you said, we are impatient
gardeners!
