*** Time to set clocks ahead
WASHINGTON (AP) - Those long evenings, perfect for cookouts and
sports, return Sunday with the start of daylight-saving time.
Daylight time returns at 2 a.m. for a stay of nearly seven months as
clocks are turned forward an hour. Remember, spring forward. Most
people will make the change before retiring Saturday night -
especially those who want to avoid being late for church on Easter
Sunday. Standard time returns Oct. 31. The law allows states and U.S.
territories to exempt themselves from daylight time, and the
clock-changing ritual is not observed in Arizona, Hawaii, the part of
Indiana in the Eastern time zone, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands or
American Samoa. See
