Re: Queen Anne's Lace (Wild carrot)

Hi - generally a lurker here -

I learned from a camp counselor (in IN) when I was in the scouts that
the way to tell true Queen Anne's Lace from cow parsnip(?) (I believe)>
was by looking for this maroon center. The story we were told was that
Queen Anne was working on her lace when she pricked her finger with the
needle and a drop of blood fell onto the lace. This has stuck with me
all these years and I always look for that purple center.
