Half-hardy Perennials

My vote for a half-hardy perennial is Pentas lanceolata. It grows to about
2 ft tall, has clusters of red star shaped flowers, and blooms all summer.
Its a beautiful plant, but although I live in a mild climate I'm 3 for 3 in
killing them during the winter. Either frost or wet conditions will do
them in apparently. This year I'm going to try cuttings.
