I have seen offerings of the variegated. Actually, if the species weren't
so horribly rampant, I'd try it, being a variegated plant nut...but I just
can't bring myself to a) actually pay money for that species and b)
actually introduce any of it on purpose, variegated or not.
Pity it's so rapacious as it is really a rather attractive plant. I have a
very old edition of the Time-Life Encyclopedia of Gardening and in it, they
have a photo of the species being used as a ground cover next to a
walkway. Have to wonder just how that worked out for the rest of the
garden. I suspect all is ground-ivy by now.
You can keep your lot, Chris...I have plenty. This is one plant I wish
bambi liked!
