Do you or anyone else on this list have a reference that states that
Pyracantha has poisonous fruit? I can find no reference to its toxicity.
I am sure that stomach pumping is a horrid experience for a small child,
however I want to be sure we are not spreading a myth like the now
discounted Poinsettia toxicity.

Many plants are poisonous, including many that we eat all the time.
I know that many people jump to wild conclusions when they here that a plant
is poisons.
A better question might be "has this plant ever harmed any one"
Any one on this list ever had a plant poison them or someone they know?
There are many perennials that have poisons in them, but have as much as I
have ever heard, never harmed any one including:
Aloe
Allium
Anemone
Aquilegia
Paeonia officinalis Paeoniaceae
Paeonia species Paeoniaceae
Papaver aculeatum Thunb. Papaveraceae
Papaver nudicaule L. Papaveraceae
Papaver rhoeas L. Papaveracea
Papaver somniferum L. Papaveraceae
Papaver species Papaveraceae
Paradisea liliastrum Bertol. Liliaceae
Passiflora species
Parthenocissus quinquefolia (L.) Planchon Vitaceae
Parthenocissus tricuspidata
Paris obovata Ledeb. Liliaceae
Paris quadrifolia L. Liliaceae
This is only a small sample of commonly grown plants that are poisonous.
I would be interested in any poisoning stories from any garden plants.
And maybe I will relate the one time a plant tried to do me in.
