What I have discovered about the Salvia's is that some are long living and
some very short lived...as long as you keep the seed and also, Salvia's are
usually very easy to take cuttings from. They seem to root easily and grow
quickly. If it is not hardy for you that might be the answer. I usually
root in 50/50 mix of verm/perlite. It works well for me.
