Nasturtium and Four O'Clocks

Hey, I've grown nasturtium many times. The secret to getting a bunch of
flowers is to go easy on the fertilizer and rich soils. I plant mine in
clay and they do just fine until mid-summer; then I have to pull them up
because they attract these little black bugs that just consume the leaves
until there's nothing left. Plus they start to yellow and look pretty
ratty. I've saved the seeds and grew them the following year with no
problem although I don't bother with them anymore.

Speaking of annuals reseeding, I think once you have some four o'clocks
you'll have them forever. Mine reseed like crazy, but the pretty
variegated blooms don't come back (sigh). And then they always come up
where and when you least expect them to. I let them be because in the
evening they have a wonderful fragrance.
