Re: Tristate Nurseries(Daylilies)

I could not help but notice your comment about Daylily sales being down all over
the country. It has been my observation here locally that I do not know how one
can sell another daylily. Or hosta, or bearded iris. All three have been pushed to
death. Everyone and their grandmother has opened a nursery on the side to sell
these. I think at this point there are only two markets remaining.... the new
gardeners who somehow missed the first boat and selling to another nursery.
Certainly nothing wrong with the plants, but they have received a bit too much
press, in my opinion. The local societies are made up of a large percentage of
individuals who sell one or both of the above... makes for a (not so?) hidden
agenda behind every move and lots of infighting instead of people just hanging out
discussing plants.
