I don't know where you live, but in the American Southwest and in the 
Pacific Northwest this is regarded as an undesired invasive plant. It 
crowds out native plants that give food and shelter to native insects, 
etc., for instance.  Sort of a minor league loosestrife. Try running a 
search on it.  Margaret L
