Re: Lathyrus Relatives

Gene, I don't think this will be a problem. First of all, I can grow
astilbe, pulmonaria and hosta (not just some species/varieties but all that
I've tried so far) in full sun in my garden. Secondly, some of my best
tulip plantings are grown under maple trees. The tulips bloom before the
maples leaf out and provide shade. Obviously they get enough light to mature
properly because the tulips have been there since before we moved into the
house, which would be about 8 years now, and show no signs of declining. I
would think that L. vernus should do well in that location.
