crocosmia!!

My crocosmia *Lucifer* bloomed!!!!

This may not seem like much reason to celebrate, but this is the first
year I've tried them.  And with all my *pink* problems in my *Hot*
garden, I am pleased to announce that *Lucifer* is just the right shade
of orangish red to be quite pleasing in a garden filled with yellows,
oranges, and fiery reds!!

I am assuming that here in Zone 5, I should consider it a *summer bulb*,
rather than a spring one.  Thanks to all who recommended it as an
addition to my garden.  My hemerocallis *Garnet Dazzle* also recently
bloomed, and IMO, is as close to true crayola red as I've found.

Ah - they joys of gardening!
