RE: L. cardinalis hardiness in UK was: Cannas plus Lobelias and Crocosmias

Thanks for all the advice on L. cardinalis.   I am going to leave some in
the ground and some I will overwinter in the greenhouse so will be able to
report back next spring :).

I was going to mulch with grit in attempt to keep the slugs at bay but,
taking into account your comments, Gene, wonder if I should mulch one lot
and not another?   Fortunately, I have sizeable clumps, so have enough to
experiment with.   I may even transplant a clump to my pond ledge and see if
it works for me as it does for Colin.
