Re: Lobelias

I also planted cardinalis last year, but the bunnies got to it before it even had a
chance. This year I put it into my bog garden and put stakes around it. It
flourished and is about 1 1/2 ft. tall with its beautiful red flower spikes. However
, I also purchased a lobelia 'Ruby Slipper' which has green foliage and it, also in
the bog garden, has outperformed the other. it is about 5 ft. tall and has a 2ft.
flower spike, which to my amazement isn't red, or ruby colored, but a dark purple.
Simple striking. I absolutely love the color. Maybe it was mismarked? or is that
the color of Ruby Slipper? Doesn't matter, I hope it overwinters. CHAR zone 5.
