Char - Lobelia 'Ruby Slippers' should be a ruby color, not dark purple. It's
a very unusual color in the garden and something I look forward to in late
summer every year. It increases nicely. I certainly wonder what your dark
purple one is! I bought several cultivars this spring, including 'Misty
Morn,' another hybrid from Thurman Maness in NC, which is a lovely lavender,
(the lobelia, not Mr. Maness) but no dark purple.
