Hello Anne,
I really do like the concept of little rooms to enter,or arches and gateways
to pass through in gardens. Need to pick up that concept a bit more in my
gardening. I have some dead-end paths planned in the new gardening section we are
opening up in the pine forest. Thinking about small benches in rooms with a
feature of some type such as a small garden sculpture, a bird feeder or pool.
I just gave in to the concept of "grasses" this past fall. Planted one
Carex, then over winter ordered 4 more dwarf Care. This spring went out and
purchased two of the hakonochloa... two each. I have mine along the cliff edge
flowing down between rocks at a ledge. Thinking of perhaps more. I am enjoying the
look of the dwarf carex between rocks. Also changed the area around my stone
sculpture to include carex at the base and wandering out through large stones.
Have you tried the new Japanese Painted fern called "Ghost" as yet? Stays on
the lime-green side, pale and almost shimmering in the shade.
