The link was on the relationship between the use of glyphosate and cancer,
consider it bonus information. The pasted piece discussed the idea that
glyphosate does not leave a residue in the soil. Testing shows that that
particular chemical alone may not but the inert ingredients cause the product
to be retained in the soil. If goodness prevails chemical companies will
have to label all ingredients, active an inert, on a product label. And
there has been recent information that the word "biodegradable" will no
longer be acceptable on the label because of this finding. It may already be
applicable, I couldn't say I don't touch the stuff.
Obviously temperaments and attitudes toward the use of ANY chemicals differ
between gardeners. For me and my kind the use of Round Up and the term
"sensible" do not go together, an oxymoron of sorts. I often forget the
allowances others make when satisfying their personal gardening needs rather
than the needs of the environment and the other occupants of this planet.
Isn't it common sense to avoid using poisons at anytime?
