Gene, a report on my yellow aconitum, now in bloom. The blooms are pale
yellow with a tinge of green. The individual blossoms are smaller than
the blue A. napellus & others. The flower stems are well above the plant
-- one is very erect, the other 4 are floppy so I staked them up (about
30 inches tall). One stalk has only one bloom panicle (or whatever),
the others are all branched into three or four separate bloom heads.
The plant is under a porch and gets morning sun (hot!) until noon, then
shade. This hot weather didn't seem to faze it, the blooms don't look
faded after 9 days -- all in all, I'm pleased. Will see if the stems
stiffen up some with maturity. These would look pretty as a foil to
strong colors - red roses, deep blues, etc. -- and looks nice behind the
'Little Wine Cup' miniature daylilies where it is now.
