I will send the weather soon, definitely by Thurs. when we will be having your weather minus some of the humidity I hope.
What a boon on the daylilies! I noticed this weekend I am feeling a real "let down" garden wise. After the roses are the asiatics and then the daylilies and lastly the orientals which really carry the color. What's to look forward to now that they are all gone? I have an all-season garden and have many perennials and even shrubs still going, but August is kind of a downer, isn't it?
I thought I would make a point of visiting a few nurseries in August to see if anything "spectacular" is going on that I might need to include in my garden.
Any ideas?

Hello Susan,
When you absolutely can not stand that kind of weather any more, give
the front a boot in the bottom, send it on up and over the mountains so
those temperatures can roll down the other side and come to rest here. Today
is to reach 95 degrees with humidity stacked on top.... and I have customers
who want to spend the afternoon here. See the gardens and nursery.Coming
down from about 2 1/2 hours drive north of here, so can not say "why not
another time".
Speaking of daylilies... an old nursery buddy who is a daylily breeder
has gone out of business. Sent a truck load of his stock over couple of
weeks back. When the weather cools a bit looks like we will be transplanting
daylilies all down the road along our property where it has been washing out
along an embankment.

More fallish than summerish here -- even breezy. Will I be fooled? Will I
succumb to the urge to purge or to conquer and divide? Probably. ;-)
Daylilies anyway, things I couldn't kill except with a blow torch ;-) Some
times ya just gotta "make hay while the sun shines" or, why it DOESN'T
shine, in my case.
