You might want to try stem cuttings, Phlox paniculata also drops seeds around
that will grow up amongst the parent plants.
There are a number of nice new Phlox on the market, Three that have been very
popuklare include:
"Blue Paradise" with large-purple-blue flowers and stems that grow about 40
inches tall.
"Laura" with large flowers that are round in shape and purple in color with
large white star shaped centers.
"Becky Towe" with gold variegated foliage and large salmon-pink colored
flowers.
The newer forms are more mildew resistant than "Star Fire" But 'Star Fire" is
still one of the best "reds" around. Mildew is a problem were soils are dry
and the air is warm and moist.
Better mildew resistant "reds" are "Red Riding Hood" and 'Sandra" but the
colors are more on the orange-red side.
