Yes, I have a number of different forms of the commonly grown species and
hybrids and each flowers differently. The best is "Hot Lips" with its dark
foliage and good solid pink colored flowers.

"Hot Lips" will grow and flower in a wide range of conditions from good solid
shade to a sunny location.

Plants with the long narrow leaves are more sensitive to soil conditions. I
also have a very tall white one that I like very much for its late
flowering-but I have to say that there are a few others I hate because the
colors are very washed out with pukey pink or washed out milky white flowers.
Turtle Heads can be/and are raised from seed easily enough and its a good
idea to keep the best and throw away the less attractive ones-but ofcoarse
when grown for sale nurseries pot up every plant and they are sold before
they bloom, so when we buy a new one we do not know what we are getting.

The aggressively growing ones for me have all had the long narrow leaves --
while those with the larger-round leaves have been clump forming plants.
