Hello Chris,
I have been reading the back and forth you and Paul have been doing on
the why no bloom aspect of your turtlehead. I have no desire to stir the
waters, but.... my stand is in shade and dry shade for sure. The stand is
wedged between a low fence of cedar post that keep it out of sunlight until
very late in the afternoon. has to get up and above that to get any real
light. On the other side is the liner of a wading pool sunk into the ground
for some bog orchids. Placed the turtlehead here to keep it in bounds.
Always read that if you gave it lots of moisture and rich soil it would be
aggressive.
Foliage and stems on mine are a deep, glossy green and every stem has
multiple buds on it now. Height is a bit above two feet. They receive very
little extra moisture from the hose.
Can it be the zones we garden in plus, or minus, the clone each of us
has to play with?
