Canadian Border Patrol was around 150.00 a few years ago when I belonged to
THE GROUP. Some of our members smuggled it in from a trip to Hawaii, potted
it and then brought it around to show off. What is it about this plant that
made it so desirable? Is it that we in the north cannot grow it or was it
rare or what? The name sticks. Those wonderful folks who name daylilies
march to a different drummer. It is downright embarrassing to discuss some,
CBP being a mild one. Some names come from literature, some descriptive but
daylilies they cannot be explained.
That being said they do bloom a lot for me in August but then we might get a
frost by Sept. 10 or 15 so it may not be a great advantage.
