Re: Digitalis grandiflora

Hello Susan,
Yep, Digitalis grandiflora is perfectly perennial here. I have had this
one in the garden for some years now. to be exact mine is the cultivar
'Temple Bells', which has larger blooms in a softer creamy yellow. Another
perennial yellow foxglove is D. lutea. this one has smaller bloom, but
foliage I like better - deep green and sturdy, stiffly upright, stems. Forms
nice clumps over time. Also have had the D. mertonensis for some year and it
has never lived up to expectations for me. Always very short stems. Tried it
in about 3 different locations now. D. lanata is perennial here as well. All
of these are relative short ... about 3 feet.... it is the biannual that are
the tall and showy foxgloves.

perennial, is it? Sun or shade or does it matter?
