Don:
I've been given some seeds of Pardancanda that I did not get to plant. Can
you tell me if I should try now..zone 6b...or wait until late winter/early
spring indoors? Also how big is the foliage? the flower? Just like a
Belamcanda?...or different? I' really like the colors of the two you've
shown..........

Hmmm.... I guess I'd be inclined to wait until next spring, Walter. What you could do is to place them in your refrig. in a zip lock bag with some just barely damp spagnum moss sometime about March. They might even begin germinating right in the bag. If not, they will begin germination when you take the bag out of the refrig in early May.

The foliage generally stays under 1 foot and is identical to Belamcanda. The flowers on the ones that I grow are the same form as the Belamcanda. The flowers of 'Sukey' are about the same size as Belamcanda, although some of the others have larger flowers.

If you send me your address, I'll try to save some seed of these two this fall so you can grow them next spring.

Don
