Well, Walter, my take is that it may be fine in woodland conditions
rather than boggy conditions, but I'd water it rather than let it
have to deal with really dry shade for starters, anyway. The
Weedpatch article was about all I found with any real info. on the
plant. It's listed in lots of plant lists, but no info. on growing
it.
I think collecting all 'pennsylvanica' plants for a Pennsylvanian
garden a neat idea, but there are a couple you may not want - there's
a smartweed out there with pennsylvanica as a tag...I've been trying
to eradicate it for decades:-)
