Cheryl, we wnt up nrar Guelph touring a couple of Hosta dominated gardens
that were on Kathy Renwalds show, and a bunch of nurseries that would put
ours to shame. Across from Niagara Falls it is a growers haven. zone 6,
maybe even zone 7A ....there word/plants. We had dinner at Niagara On The
Lake which is a wonderful little town with wineries on the outskirts and
clean with myriads of gardens and flowerboxes; a picture postcard.
Now we stayed overnight in Canandaigua,NY and cisited Sonnenberg Mansion &
Gardens. wonderful arboretum like with some great weeping and
fern/'Laciniata' beeches, etc, etc, but alas no trains. The trins might be
in gardens elswhere, but we didn't see any.
It's a trip I would like to do again, but more time in Ontario as we missed
the Royal Botanical Gardens as well as Jim Lounsburys nursery which , after
the fact, we found we were only several blocks away.
Walter in Pinevile lotsa rain upper NY state........none in Pineville=DRY
