I don't know about other southern gardeners, but have developed a
semi-stoic attitude toward heat - hate it; hate sweating, but
resigned to being a totally soaked gardener who moves in slow motion
in summer. It's that or not garden, really. You can get something
accomplished, but it takes a whole lot longer than when temps are
cooler.
