>>Ain't it interestin', Bill, what scents some hate and others don't?
To me, the scent of box means summer in the south:-) To others it's
anathema. Now, I loathe and despise the scent of privet
blooms...makes me gag; others say how sweet they are...
If I had one smell left to smell, it would be boxwood--one of the greatest
aromas on the planet. I hate the little holly look-alike (to the uneducated
eye) because it doesn't have the smell. I too, hate privet and its cousins.
Paperwhites are initially nice but turn rancid to me pretty quickly.
A wondering, then: Fact: there is a component in Brussels sprouts that
some people can taste/smell, and others can't, and the difference is
genetic. I CAN smell it, and I HATE Brussels sprouts. Wonder if there's a
mapping from there to privet and boxwood?
